This year's Equal Work day falls on May 19, about a month after Equal Pay Day. What are your experiences around pay in the workplace? Do you believe that you receive fair pay based on the work you put in?
In a recent article by Sara Horowitz, she found that a significantly larger percentage of women do freelance work than men, who are more likely to take a more traditional schedule. Sara cites schedule flexibility as one reason for this. Why do you think women prefer greater schedule flexibility, and how does this impact their pay compared with their male counterparts?
Mary Elizabeth Williams recently posted an interesting article on Gender Norms on salon.com. In spite of painstaking efforts to the contrary, she was surprised by a question from her daughter about whether she would work from home if her husband made more money.
